"Thats good to hear. I think." Endul would have hate to own a business, or club and or casino. It was way too much for her. She'd grow older faster than humanly possible, and loose her ability of talking to almost every one, /and/ getting along with them. She'd be way too sick of every one if she worked here, or a place just like this. But then again, she /would/ be a great bartender.
"I guess you could say that." Endul was slightly surprised at the flirty remarks, wondering how much he really had to drink now. She glanced at his glass, then back up at him. She remembered the first time she'd met Cane, he was a grutch in the beginning, but after a few drinks and jokes, they made him smile! Ha, how utterly great that was, but now he was...flirting? "Oh, well, thanks." Her cheeks blushed, and she could feel it, so she looked back at the dance floor to hide her flushed face. But then her head quickly turned up to him again, legs moving back together and hands resting on the bar. Her knees crossed and she shrugged. "Im okay. I could be better." Endul knew Cane didnt know about her little addiction, and she rather of kept it that way. If he did knew, Endul had this feeling he'd might treat her differently or even bug her about it.

L's eyes quickly glanced over the newcomer, reserving judgment for the time being. Let the cards be dealt first. Truth be told he was getting a little bored, and all the winning and of course the extra oxygen they put in the air, wasn't doing much for him. A challenge would piss him off, but at least it would be entertaining. "You really think so?" his brow raised, directing the question to the now playing server, as the cards were dealt.
ooc|| Blarrrrghhhhhhhhhhh. Poker is as dry RPing as it is playing. x) I'm so negative.

Yes, owning one’s own bar did have its downsides. For one thing, there was no privacy; the problems of the proprietor always worked into the business, no matter how hard one tried to separate their home life with their profession. And then there was the fact that every employee thought it was their God given right to dump their sob stories into his lap; expect him to fix their broken lives for them. Sometimes, it was just downright annoying. But Hellfire, he loved every minute of it. Cane, among other things, was a control freak, and owning a business allowed for all kinds of that powerful drug. Here, and in the numerous other establishments he owned throughout the city, he was God, and there were no uncertainties. Here, the future was open to him, and there would be no surprises. He’d had enough of those in this purgatory of a life, thanks.
Ah, back to this ‘flirting’ incident. It was a slip of the tongue, really; hanging out with Tro and Dean- yet another one of the many tenants that made up his ‘Family’- tended to do that to a person. Not that Cane actually ‘hung out’ as much as stood there in the doorway and listen to the two younger men babble, but…well, he was progressing. At least he came out of his office. That was a start, right? Right. A thoughtful frown replaced the tiny smile that had owned his lips earlier. “What’s wrong? If someone is bothering you, I can have them taken care of.” He said. Looking over her shoulder, he motioned toward Dallas, who began fighting the crowd in an effort to walk toward them. He liked Endul, and if there was some stupid person bothering her…? Well. Let’s just say that simply a happy nightclub owner he was not.

Endul raised a brow. Hm, bothering her? There was no one in particular. She could mention Joundre, but Joundre wasn’t really causing any problems. Well, as of now. The roommate was rather annoying, with her slutty actions and always, and I mean always, having to get in the way of Endul and a man, whether it was a friendship or more. Her hands shook in front of her, a small smile appearing on her face, as she turned her head around to look at Dallas pushing through. “No, no. Im fine.” Endul said, quickly, so Dallas wouldn’t have to haul his way over there for no reason at all. “There’s no one bothering me.” Her smile got wider, trying to show him there was really nothing to worry about. “I mean, there is Joundre, but im not talking about her.” She didn’t want to get to in it, or get her friend in trouble.

“So what’s the matter, Endul?” Cane asked. His face was still set in its stoic mask, but there was a hint of concern coating his voice. “If you need help, you just need to ask.” Yeesh…a random spurt of flirting, and now concern? There went his reputation for being a cold hearted bastard. Poor thing; he’d put so much time into growing the rumors. But it was true; he seemed to have a soft spot for this girl. She was…refreshing, if nothing else. Everyone, friends or no, seemed to want something from him lately. Whether it was a room over their head, money, social aid, a need for revenge…he never could catch a break. But Endul? She was just here to have a good time; something he appreciated. Lord knew that The Bolt couldn’t afford to go around just for the hell of it. What if one of his competitors took the chance to get one up on him? Or- like it would do anything, really- one of them tried to take him out while he was off gallivanting off his turf? It was a saddening fact, but he was used to it. He’d had a lot of time to come to terms with his lot in life.
But taking a step back from such depressing thoughts: this situation with Endul. Holding his hand up, he motioned for Dallas to return to the doors. His shoulders shrugging, the big man moved back through the crowd, and Cane turned his metallic eyes to the younger woman’s- shaking? Why?- form, waiting patiently for an answer.

Endul just stared at him for the minute, quiet. She didn’t want to tell him, and she told herself she wasn’t going to. No, no way was he going to pry out this secret from her. “Hm.” She rested her head on her hand, elbow leaning against the bar as she looked at him. She just shrugged, a small smile appearing on her face. “Cane, your too nice.” Wondering exactly if she should tell him or not, she felt sort of awkward there. Even if Endul did tell him about the fact she still had this weird addiction to drugs, how would she say it? How would he react? Plus, it was just plain embarrassing. Would he act like she was some kid now? Wasn’t it that only moronic kids did drugs? Immature 16 year olds? “Im taking drugs.” Endul finally said. Ah, might as well just come out with it. “Im not so bad, im just…well,...”
Many times, she tried to quit, but couldn’t. It was either because her boyfriends were as worst as she was, or that her dreaded roommate, Joundre, would just encourage it. Endul used to be big on alcohol, but now it seemed pointless. “Don’t tell me your opinion on it, will you. Save me the annoyance.”

Nice? Him? Boy, did she have him mixed up with some other mysterious, seemingly indestructible millionaire. An amused smile tugging at the edges of that stoic mask, he cleared his throat, looking away from her face and back to the dancers off to the side. “I’m just concerned, Endul.” He said, a but gruffly. It was obvious that the older man didn’t take praise all too well. Truth be told, he was expecting her to tell him that an old flame was bothering her, or she was in trouble with money for school. She seemed like she was old enough for college, or whatever it was that young people were doing for education these days- he was a bit out of that loop, he supposed. …But when she came out and said that she was hooked on what he supposed were unconventional drugs? He was a bit surprised.
“I wasn’t planning on telling you my opinion, Endul, because I don’t have one.” Cane replied, after a moment. “But can you answer me one question? Do you want to be taking these drugs?” If there was anything that the mobster understood, it was addiction. Try living as long as he did and not accumulate some kind of excessive love and not go insane. But hell, he didn’t want to sit there and sound like a parent, or some insanity like that. At the same time, however, he was…concerned. Like a friend would be, he supposed. Which probably wasn’t the best realization he could have had. The Bolt didn’t have friends; he couldn’t deal with the thought that, in so many ways, they could be lost to him. Solid ties were forbidden in his life…and yet here he was, feeling an odd tightening in his chest as he looked at the younger woman sitting next to him. God’s Blood, he was so screwed. ---
Jay: Psh, your replies are lovely, dahling. -petpet- ...Here I am, making Cane sound like some wierd father-figure. Oivay. ><

Endul watched his reaction, her face blank. Why’d she have to tell /every single person/ what was going on her life? This was just another slip because the last thing she wanted to do is make herself look bad, especially in front of Cane. Not because he was famous, or rich, or any thing like that. More like Endul actually enjoyed his company as much as he enjoyed hers, even if he was grumpy and didn’t smile that much. That whole “im-a-tough-guy” thing made her like him even more. Cane was hands down interesting, and it wasn’t because of his million dollar bills. “Of course I don’t,” Endul almost looked surprised. Why would she want to be taking them? If she did, she probably wouldn’t of told him, or any one else. She crossed her legs, than uncrossed them, then repeated the action in a symbol of nervousness, clearly uncomfortable about the subject. “I hate doing them, but I do. Its not that I can just like, magically stop.” Endul leaned her side against the bar, resting her head on her hand. She’d been to rehab before, so that didn’t work. Plus, she didn’t have the money to go back there any way. And it was just plain creepy for her to be there. Who ever expected little Endul to be submitted into rehab? “Don’t worry about me, okay, Cane?” Endul reached over, poking his nose and grinning once again.

Jay:
Cane has a new lookup. Check it ouuuuut. >DD ---
Cane continued to frown thoughtfully as Endul spoke, his brows creased together slightly to make a small wrinkle in the middle of his forehead. He really did hate not knowing what to do. He liked this girl, hated to see her in such inner turmoil...but seriously, what could he do to help her? Drugs only hurt the person using them- and sometimes the people around them, but mainly just that one person- and the only way to stop was for THEM to decide 'no more'. Sure, he could offer her money, but what if the desire for a fix was too strong? And he could offer to check her into rehab, but would that be a bit strange, coming from a man who she hardly knew? Truth be told, he was still a stranger to the younger girl. This man had more secrets than money, and damn was that saying a lot. Surprisingly, however, if asked the right questions, the old mobster would probably answer them. This girl, as young and troubled as her situation made her out to be, was very much unlike most of the women he'd encountered. And that, among other things, he liked. Very much.
Such were the thoughts that were going through his head as he tried to think up a solution to her problem, for that was how Cane worked. If there was a situation, there had to be a logical solution for it, to make everything magically better. So, drugs...he could point her in the direction of a recover-ee, get her to sign up in one of those strange programs- after some deep research and threats toward the people there, of course; his friends would recieve the best treatment possible- or--
WhattheHELL?! Did she just POKE his NOSE?! ...Okay. Now there was a first.
Blinking owlishly at her, that stoic mask of his fell away for a split second, showing an odd amount of surprise at the touch. From that look, it was obvious that he wasn't used to such familiarity, and...kind of liked it? Whoa, that was more than scary. But, as quickly as it fell away, his face returned to its normal smile-less expression, as he raised one brow at her. "You could come stay with me for a time," He said after a moment, turning his head to look out at the dancers on the floor. The statement sounded a bit...wierd, even to him, so he hurried on. "I own a very large house on the outskirts of the city, and some of my employees live there on and off, so please don't get the wrong impression. If you need some place to get away and get..." What was the word for it? Oh yes. "Clean- if you want to, of course- you're welcome to stay for as long as you like."

ooc: ooh. c: so pretty. I love Cane <333
bic:
Endul automatically noticed Cane’s reaction to the poke, and couldn’t help but laugh a little. It was sort of cute, and weird at the same time. Did he like it? Or did he just feel incredibly uncomfortable having a girl so much younger than him touch him on his nose? Which ever, Endul couldn’t help but question it. Suddenly, her face turned even more surprised. Stay…with him? How utterly creepy did that sound. A brow raised, almost offended, but as he continued on (luckily before she’d smack him or some thing Endul-like), she let a smile on again. “Ohh.” Now, it was hard for her to just say ‘okay’. She sure wanted to quit such a horrible habit, but it wouldn’t just be awful doing it. Endul would get sick, and nervous all of the time. She’d probably be locked up in her guess room, not wanting to come out unless it was a drug dealer. Which for sure, it wouldn’t be. Plus, she had a dog, Lola, who was her favorite person (if you counted a dog as a person) at the moment, and she couldn’t live without. Lola would have to come for sure. And not only Lola was back at her apartment, but Joundre, her best friend and roommate. She hadn’t gone a day or two without talking to her, and being in Cane’s big mansion, she wouldn’t see Joundre at all, which would be depressing. Plus, if Joundre did have the chance to come along, she’d definitely some how sneak pot in just for the unbearably hard days to go cold turkey. “I have a dog, though.” Endul said. She secretly didn’t want to go, at all. Maybe she /didn’t/ want to quit, maybe it was just her saying that. But she knew she had to any way. “If I can bring Lola, I’ll go. But are you sure you want me around?” And the little lady was sure she could speak to Joundre on the phone. Plus, she’d get to live in a big mansion for a while. Which couldn’t be /that/ bad.
