A white striped Wocky approached the large fountain in the middle of the park. Her garnet eyes were fixed on the water; ever since she was small, she loved fountains, the way the water sparkled in the sunlight. Her hair, a pale rose color, brushed against her shoulders as she sat down at the base of the fountain, liking the feeling of the small flecks of water. It was the middle of July, and unbearably hot. She dipped her fingers into the water and watched as ripples formed along the surface of the water, distorting the view of the shiny coins sitting on the bottom. Digging into her pocket, she withdrew a silver dime. Turning so her back was against the fountain, she closed her eyes, tossed the coin into the fountain, and made a wish. I wish that something good would happen. Specifics don't matter, just something that'll make me unbelievably happy. Opening her eyes, she resumed her position perched on the fountain. Her eyes flickered to the large clock tower sitting in one corner; it read 12:02. Xan asked to meet her there at noon. Where was he?
ooc; her wish and reaction to the fountain would be mine exactly. i wish on stuff all the time, and i would have so much fun seeing a fountain somewhere and just chucking coins into it. In a completely unrelated note, I hope this intro wasn't too bad?

Xan walked into the park's entrance. He'd left at exactly 12, which probably wasn't a good idea. Leaving early is always a good idea. Just in case. He just hoped that Lunar wouldn't flip or anything. He was only a few minutes late. She wouldn't be that angry, would she?
Today the white lupe was sporting a long sleeved navy blue shirt and some jeans. He looked dressed for autumn or some day cooler than what it was now. This was just one of the many things that happened to you when you come back from the dead. Xan doesn't feel anything. Well, not temperature changes or anything like that. He does feel pain, which is a good thing. Not bleeding is quite convenient, though.
As he walked, his three, extremely long, tails swished about nervously behind him. Sometimes it was like they had a mind of their own, but if you noticed, his tails reacted to his mood. At the moment, he was obviously fretting about meeting Lunar. And this wasn't just becuase he was five minutes late. Something was making him a little uncomfortable, but he had no idea what it was.
He noticed the wocky at the fountain and came over immediately. "Hey," He greeted her, giving her a smile and a quick peck on the cheek. He lowered himself onto the edge of the splurting fountain next to his girlfriend.

"Hey," she replied easily, shifting on the edge to face him. Her eyes flickered quickly from his face, to his tails (which were flicking around), then back to his face. "What's wrong?" she asked softly, lacing her fingers through one of his hands. "And before you say nothing, you tails are flickering around like they're possessed. And I can see it in your face. You're nervous." She leaned next to him and listened as a few girls walked by, chattering about some carwash they were holding later on that day. "I'll bring the soap," one said. "I'll bring the sponges," another supplied. They both turned to the third, a brunette with big dark eyes, that replied cautiously, "Uh.. I'll bring the water?" Lunar laughed a little, before looking back up at Xan. There were still times when she was completely awed that someone so perfect as Xan could love her. she kissed him once on the nose, right over his scar, before hastily replying, "Sorry, couldn't help myself."
ooc; aha. the carwash thing; excerpt from my own life. my cousin was the person there, and she heard three girls on her cheerleading team saying that. i had to add it. XD

Xan glanced over at her, looking as if he was caught doing something he wasn't. "Ah, oops. You caught me," He said. He was nervous, but how was he to explain when he had no idea? Emotions bothered him often, but some were just fine. Like those little flutters he got whenever he saw Lunar. That was a good feeling. Butt, this was just too irritable. "I don't know what it is," He muttered.
He chuckled and smiled when she kissed his nose. "Nah, I don't mind," He said to her. The two of them had identical scars. His sister gave them the reminders after she killed each. She had one herself, but only Xan and Lunar knew the sad tale about it.
He calmed down slightly after. One of his tails wrapped around Lunar while the other two rested on the other side of Xan.

She began to absentmindedly pet the tail wrapped around her waist. She could sense his discontent, so she decided to drop the subject of his nervousness. Resting her head against his shoulder, she closed her eyes lightly, enjoying the way the sunlight tried to warm her skin. Tried being the key word. "So," she spoke softly, eyes still closed, "what'd you want to talk to me about?" She finally opened her eyes and looked up at him, pale garnet meeting bright yellow curiously. Hey eyebrows bended in slightly, the only sign of her questioning look.
ooc; -laughs- i just got really sleepy all of a sudden. then kind of "woke up". XD

Xan's tail fell limp under Lunar's touch. It calmed him in a way, but it wasn't getting his mind off of what was happening. After a while of not talking and rummaging through his mind, he caught his emotions and tied them to what was up. So he knew, but he was thinking of not asking. Well, come on. There were a lot of things that could go wrong here.
He blinked and glanced away from her. He watched as a happy couple and their toddler stroll by. He held his breath, even if he didn't need to breathe at all(old habits die hard), and said, "I.. just wanted to see you."
He looked back at her and gave her a weak, but fairly convincing smile. She was going to see through him for sure, but it didn't hurt trying. He was going around the main topic as long as he could.

"You're lying," she replied quietly, watching the toddler in the stroller. Her eyes hazed over with tears, but she quickly blinked them back. Not remembering her past was kind of hard on her sometimes.
"Well," she added, "not completely. But that's not the real reason. Although," she kissed him on the cheek, "I wanted to see you too. But take your time. I'll talk until you want to say whatever it really is."
ooc; -feeling sad- i wish my dad was upstairs! so i could listen to my music in peaaceee. (my music being one of my favorite songs that my best friend played (with this kid on drums) and put on youtube, just for meee).

Xan frowned slightly when she told him. Well, yeah he was lying, but it was never fun having someone tell you. Especially someone so close. He sighed lightly. This was going to be hard. How was he supposed to say it? She'd get too excited and he wouldn't be able to explain anything.
"Okay," He said softly, then turned over to Lunar so they were facing eachother. "Er... ah.... Lunar?" He said, really unsure about the whole thing. This was so not easy for the guy. After he said her name, his ears went back and he didn't feel like saying anymore.

His hesitation was clear in his voice; Lunar responded with a soft, quiet, "Yes?" As she said this, she rested her hand on his arm, trying to provide some sense of comfort. She hated seeing him looking so torn up over something. Especially because she had an idea it might have to do with her.
ooc; sorrysorry super short. not feeling the best. -updates deviant journal-

Xan blinked. He wasn't breathing as he stared at her. His raincoat yellow eyes tried to drive away from her gaze, but they couldn't break free. He bit his lip for maybe a second, but refused to do so since it was make Lunar a little more on the edge. She was already touching his arm so he'd blurt what he wanted to say.
"Uh.. well, I was thinking," He mumbled. It was slowing pealing off his chest. Like a kid that didn't want his band-aid to hurt, but it was worse then just ripping it off. "You know, we've been.. together for a while," His voice was soft. In a way, it was cute and heart melting. He acted like a teenager sometimes. Even if he was actually 20, becuase thats when he died. He was only just moving into the world. His whole persona was kind of shy anyways. Even if his temper was kind of bad.

"Mmhmm," she replied in a soft tone, not wanting to freak him out any further.

"Would you...," He began to say, but his voice trailed. He swallowed then, though it was not audible. After a burst of sudden confidence he said, very quickly, "Wouldyoumarryme?"
He blinked several times after he popped the question(even if she hadn't heard it too well). He watched, hoping deep down there wasn't some reason she'd back down. Though he had a strong feeling she really wasn't going to.

Lunar's eyes opened wide in surprise. Of all the things he could've said, this was not what she was expecting. She was half wondering if he was going to break up with her, by the way he sounded so nervous, so hesitant. Yet there was something wrong. Something strange about the expression in his eyes, like he hoped she'd say no. "Well," she finally answered, voice shaking with suppressed shock, "Of course I would," she said in a soft voice. "But what I would like more," she added, "is for you to please explain why you don't want me to say yes?"
ooc; i hope i handled that okay...

He almost shook as he waited for her to answer. Even if it was two seconds, it felt like eternity to him. And when she did, he had a kind of happy beam. He was so glad she wanted to marry him, but all bliss faded when she continued. He practically winced like he had touched fire.
"Wah.. Why would I want you to say no?" He said. He wasn't ready for that kind of comment. Maybe she saw all the doubts and concerns and about the idea, but he certainly did want to marry her! He had fallen so deep into her, that he'd actually got to the bottom of the tunnel.
He straightened slightly and moved his eyes away with force. "But... uh, getting married would really have some problems," He muttered. Then he quickly added, "I really, really do love you! Really. I... I would like to get married." He watched her, eyes locked onto hers. "It's just that... Well, you know we're not really normal... And.. uh, I don't think I.. we can really afford it."
He hated saying all of this. He had to though. And after he asked, everything was just kind of spilling out. It was getting a little easier.

"Is that all?" Lunar nearly laughed with relief. She had been expecting much worse. "That's nothing we need to worry about. I don't mind the size of the wedding or anything, so long as we both love each other. That's enough for me. And my feelings for you didn't change when I died, no one else really knows that we're... well, not normal. It's nothing to worry about at all." She looked up at him and kissed him.
